Do you know what, I am surprised that I survived last week. I knew that it was a busy week but I didn’t realise just how busy, until I have gone through my photos. I’ll show you a lot of what we have done but I can’t fit some of the stuff in this post. We made pens, played with my son’s birthday toys including Lego, we watched two new films that he got with his birthday money. No wonder I’m exhausted! Here’s what else we got up to.

I posted Here what my son got for his fourth birthday. His smile was just everything when he saw all of his presents wrapped up, he loved the unicorn wrapping paper as well as his unicorn balloon. I don’t know where he gets his love for unicorns…

What really got him most excited was the unicorn birthday cake that he had asked for.

We asked our son if he wanted to go Paignton zoo or to cricket on his birthday and do you know what he went with! Cricket. The boy is just like his daddy. I made him a picnic and took a bunch of his birthday toys with us, he had such a nice day.

I took my mum and dad out for breakfast, my boy went for the yummy pancakes. I might have helped him finish them off.

We love Trevaskis farm and had to head back to do some strawberry picking. We can’t go there and not get cake right?

We did end up going go to Paignton zoo last week which we planned to do at some point instead of paying for a birthday party. My son didn’t have a birthday party last year, we figured it’s nicer to spend the money on a really cool family day out, do you do that? When my son asks for one when he’s at school we will throw him one. I won’t share many pictures of our day at the zoo as I plan to do a separate post on it – Hopefully next week.

While in Paignton Rob was dying to take me to Paignton pier to relive his childhood memories. I am so keen to go back there for a whole weekend, it would take that long to fully enjoy it all. I was gutted that we didn’t know it was Torbay air day, we arrived as the last plane was in the sky so missed seeing them. We did get a chance to enjoy the stalls, fair and bouncy castles though.

I’m not going to waffle on too much as the pictures speak better than words. Rob and I both said last week that we are so lucky to do the things that we do, to have time to do things. This time last year I was so frustrated with working every weekend and never having any family time. Maternity leave is the best, I feel like I’m on a long holiday. What did you get up to last week?
